Welcome to my little corner of the vast God planned domain. I plan to share mostly my card projects here, you might even possible see some scrapping, quilt projects, and photography. Who knows I may even try other craft projects. Might even share a selection of little recipe cards I have collected over the past few years - scrapped, of course. There may even be some little things of greatness of my daily life. Every now and then, I might even vent!

Need to get back to bloggin'

I have been so busy making all of my Christmas gift sets of cards and almost 200 Christmas cards. I know I have not posted any because I do not want everyone to know what they look like before they get them. Once they are all in the mail I will get to posting again. Besides making tons of cards, I am currently sick with a terrible cold and do not really feel like doing much lately, but for some reason I cannot sleep tonight. Oh maybe it is because I have slept most of the last two days.

We had a great Thanksgiving with my daughter and her husband, father-inlaw, and their niece and nephew. Went to a football game last Sat and that team got to play tonight for the state championship. Way to go Bothell HS.  Praying I can go back to work on Monday as I am now going to be behind missing a complete day of work.

Promise to show my Christmas cards after they are sent. Sure you have seen then somewhere else tho because I did  case most of them.

Thanks to everyone on Splitcoast Stamper for the multitude of ideas and suggestions. Well since it is almost 1 am I think I am going to shut down and try to go to bed.

A Little Kindness

After being gone for a week of camping I am home and ready to play. Also will be going to back to school orientation later this week and then back for the year next Monday. Play time will be cut back a little then. During the week at camp I developed a very sore groin and the pain ran down my leg and into my kneecap. Not sure what is going on there, hope it is not a blood clot but I do go to the Dr. this pm.

This is for the Color Challenge CC491 today and MOJO354 inspired by stampinChristy. I did change the Bermuda Bay to Tempting Turquoise to go with the DSP I used for the card. Thanks Christy. I really like the layout and wanted to used this new stampset for this week's challenge. I did layer my two printed pieces and added ink around the circle to make it stand out just a little more. Added a little Old Olive for the leaf and cut the ends of my ribbon with some pinking shears.

Wednesday, SC499 Sketch and Scrap Day

I headed to a nearby flea market today where there is a small place to scrap with 6 other women. One of the gals has a small scrapbook and crafts for sale in the center. Got 5 layout completed today and now just need to journal. Tried to post earlier but my scanner was acting up.

My rendition of SC499, I wanted it very simple yet elegant. Used the Mossy Meadow ink for the wheelbarrow. The patterned paper is really Hello Honey but shows a little orangish today. Sorry!

Stamps: Always Thankful
Paper: Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Very Vanilla, In Color 2014-16 Paper Stack

Wanted to also use two need stamp sets so combined them with this sketch SC464 and today's color challenge CC489. I am also working on packing up my first box of 100 cards to be sent to Operation Write Home on Friday. The I Like You stamp is a little hard to see as it is also on the Pool Party Party under the Trust God stamp.

3 Challenges in 1

We were out of town again for a week and I did not do much cardmaking or scrapping. Went back woods camping in Montana with my cousin and the hubbies. Then to my foks, also in Montana, for a few days. Was so quite and relaxing. After I returned I put together kits for 8 double page layouts. Now I need to cut the rest of the kits for a class.

A little late but I finally got it done. I wanted to do a card using all three of the challenges on SCS for Monday Technique Lover, Tuesday Color & Wednesday Sketch. Not so sure I like the card, I feel it need something else? What do you think?

Try Stamping on Tuesday

My card for the TSOT #176, sketch challenge. I love the Sweet Sorbet DSP so wanted to use it. Also uses color challenge CC487 of Crisp Cantaloupe, Pear Pizzaza, Soft Sky, Soft Suede & Whisper White. I used a border punch to make the scallop and added some Crisp Cantaloupe Stretch Ruffle Trim to the card. The Build A Bird Punch and scalloped Circle were handy for the focal point after daubing with ink.

My MOJO 354 card is a day late but had a hard time deciding what to do. I cam eup with this card as I have been using these floral stamp for my BRAK cards and really liked the monochromatic card Mary did as a sample. This is a really great, easy and fun sketch to follow. I am going to visit a cousin that is going blind the rest of this week and she wants to make a few cards so I decided I am using this sketch and the retired In Colors 2012/2014 as I have lot of paper and ribbon to use. I wanted something bold and yet simple so she will be able to see what we are doing. Pray this goes well.

My cards: Stamps: Petite Petals, Flower Shop, Beautiful Bunch, Six-Sided Sampler
Paper: Tangelo Twist, Whisper White, In Color 2014/16 Color Stack DSP
Ink: Tangelo Twist
Accessories: Fun Flower, Pansy and Petitie Petals Punches, In Color Ribbon, Dimensionals

Three Challenges Card

Last evening after having a tooth pulled yesterday I finally got in the mood to create. I was doing some looking at different sites and blogs and came up with this card. It fulfills three challenges on one card. The first  is for WT487 on SCS to use lots of textures. Then it fits the HSS189 Color challenge and thirdly, the CCMC311 Sketch. I loved all three challenges and came up with a card I will need in the future for a fall themed swap.

Stamp: Gently Falling (2-step stamping) and Hey There Buds
Ink; Crisp Cantaloupe, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, So Saffron
Paper: Colors to be used Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist, Whisper White
Accessories. Big Shot, Embossing Folder, Pearls, Satin Ribbon, Butterfly Punch

My many textures are the Lost Lagoon layer is embossed and hard to see, Another texture is the hand cut leaves and curled on the edges, added a ribbon bow and pearls to the butterfly.

Thanks for looking, I hope I have inspired you. Any and all comments are greatly appreciated.

More cards for swaps

This evening I made a couple more cards for some of my personal swaps. The top is for a Sketch challenge SC451 and the bottom one is for Freshly Made Sketches #144. I am not sure if I will be playing much tomorrow as I have to have a tooth prepped for a crown and also my last wisdom tooth pulled - finally.

Stamps: Hey there Buds
Ink: Markers in Always Artichoke and Rose Red. AA to die the ribbon also.
Paper: Always Artichoke, Rose Red and Very Vanilla. Springtime Vintage DSP

Stamps: Amazing Birthday
Ink: Pacific Point & Soft Sky
Paper: Pacific Point, Whisper White & High Tide DSP
Accessories: Argyle EF, Big Shot, 1/2' & 3/4" Circle punches

I appreciate any and all comments. Thanks for sharing and looking.

My idea of camping

We went camping last week in Montana and I spent a lot of time making cards. Only took a few sheets of cardstock - Basic Gray, Whisper White, Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Sahara Sand; 3 stamp sets - Sea Street, Post Collection and Pretty Postage, one punch, and the new paper stack Moonlight.  Also took my big shot and embossing folders to use on the quilted designs - they make a big difference with the added texture. Made 4 each of the first three and tenth designs, then 2 of each of the other 8 quilted cards = total of 28 cards in 3 days . Add the embellishments to the quilted cards yesterday after I was at home. Off to OWH.

Thank you so much for looking and taking time to leave a comment or two. I appreciated it very much and I may even visit your blog and leave you a little something to smile about.

In Like a Lion

My goodness, it has been a whole month since I last posted and it is cold and snowing like crazy with the wind also blowing. I have been so busy. was sick for a week with bronchitis, extra hours the next week at work to get caught up, a few extra days off end of January and February. Now it is March and I feel like I have accomplished nothing but I really have. Went to a three day scrap retreat and did 12 quilted-like cards and 20 layouts. After I did my 7 2 page layouts at the retreat I also put 4 groups of 7 layouts  2-pages each for a scrap class yesterday. They ladies were really pleased and want to do another one. I am really liking the matching Stampin' Up designer series papers, matching stickers and washi tape. We used Epic Day This and That yesterday. Plan to use the Retro Fresh set of matching products for a class in May.

I also put together today a set of 15 cards to send off with a couple from our church that is going on a mission trip so she will have hand made cards to send home to friends. Best of luck to Tyler, Renae, Caleb. Aaron and Jocelyn. We will be praying for you often. God will be with you all of the way and will look forward to hear about the progress from John and Karen and your mission letters. We will miss you very much and the little ones in nursery and the Awana program.

Hopefully I will be able to get some things completed this week that I can post. I am a little behind on my swap group and my BRAKS but plan to be working on these furiously this next week so I can get caught up.

Celebrate the Everyday Sale-A-Bration

I got my order yesterday and loved the new things in there, It was hard to decide what to use first so I went to SCS and found TLC463. This is the cutest flower and I used scalloped Circle punch instead of a plain circle. Love the little flower - thanks Joan Ervin for the technique and Stamperrobin for the sketch.

I think next time I will use a little bigger punch. I also turned my sketch up and down instead of sideways.
